Done and Done
The WoD book is finished. Thank you guys for all your support these last few months. Still don't know if it will sell, but right here, right now, I'm happy with how it came out. And anyone who is an old friend or a writer knows how rare that is.
Spoke with the honcho up at White Wolf. We can expect an answer by GenCon. Should be a busy month.
That and copies of Revenge, Wilds, and the first DCC hardcover, The Adventure Begins, showed up last night. They all look great.
Right now I'm the most fortunate man alive, but a lot of that's due to the company I keep, or more accurately, the company that keeps me.
Edit: I even found a title. Whoot. ;)

Woohoo!

Here's to Grimmy and his new book! May it soon line the shelves of bookstores everywhere! :)
That's huge, H! Way to go. :)

Congrats! Gonna share the title?
Nah. Just a working title anyhow, a place holder. I'll change it the minute Stewart tells me to.
Gah. I forgot all about post-submission stress. I've been out of the game for too long. :)
Congrats, Harley! A toast to your success.
Not a doubt in my mind they'll take it. And even in the infinitesimally remote situation they don't, well, you can always change the names, modify it a bit, and publish it somewhere else, right?
Just trying to relieve some of that stress. :)
Cheers
I also offer congratulations!
And you can be that I'll pick up a few copies as soon as possible, and then start angling for a signature as well.
Congrats on finishing the novel! I know it's a long and treacherous journey. But I hope you've found the experience to be most rewarding.
For me, finishing a novel is much like finishing a marathon. It's long, often painful, and you wondering why you're doing it much of the time while you're in the thick of things, but in the end the experience is something fantastic ... and something you want to do again. Just not right away. :)
I'll be sending you my copy for a signature after I buy it on the shelves. :)
Grimmy, any idea on how long it will be till they make a decision?
D'oh. Never mind. Just reread your entry, and there it is in black and white. By GenCon.
Of course, with their track record, that means the GenCon Anaheim... ;)
Marce, I added the announcement date in an edit, which was probably after you read the initial post. But yeah, 5 novels to be read and decided upon by GenCon Indy.
What gave me hope was that they said “announcement,” not decision, which might mean they will decide before then, but just time the announcement to the GenCon buzz.
Who knows. I’ll just double guess myself into an ulcer. ;)
Now it’s on the next project: getting back into a healthy rhythm and getting to know my wife again. :)

And thank you for all the kind words, guys and gals. I appreciate the thoughts.
Thank you.

I'm already ahead of you on that one. :)
Amen, Jeff. Ugh. Call me when you know.

Grim, if you get the book, then we are so buying you drinks and toasting your health in Indy.
If you don't get it. . . we are so buying you drinks and toasting your health in Indy.
So either way, really. :)
Cheers
Erik,
As always, thank you for your kind and thoughful remarks.
Fun thing about GenCon --- last year's convention was when Ed's advance cleared the bank (and El Presidente nearly got us into a fight 30 seconds later).

I'm late to the party, but at least the champange isn't too flat. :)
Congrats on finishing! And even more for being happy with it at the end. Whenever I rush to finish a deadline, I hate the final product.
And like Paul said, you done what most people haven't you've finished a novel.
Now start your next one. ;)
H, you rock.
