On the Internet ...
... everyone can hear you scream.

I was reminded again yesterday just how important it is for writers and would-be writers to maintain professional decorum when posting/blogging/whatever. When your words can be instantly reposted anywhere, you better make sure they are good ones. Rants, justified or not, are almost universally Bad Ideas.

To whit.

Horribly true. I don't think I've ever posted a rant I didn't regret later! In fact I'm fighting the urge to post one now :)

Do you feel like E. F. Hutton? When you speak, people listen! ;)

I suppose it could be just because I hang out on boards full of grognards, but I've seen many people post that they're considering getting 4e only because one (or more) of their favorite companies will be putting out material for the system. It seems to me that rather than charging everyone for access to the material, Wizards should be thanking certain companies for their help!

I only got through part of that thread before I sort of zoned out, but I have to say I thought the second response in the thread (by Sitara) was really interesting. I feel like such an old man, lamenting how the youth of today are misguided and the world is going to hell, but it seems telling that this person seemed to be saying that players can only be creative in their role playing if the story dictates all aspects of the world, and therefore their actions. I'm probably reading into it too much though and should probably just feel sorry for them since they've never had H run a campaign for them. ;)

Does this work, icon wise?

If so, I will get in contact about it's odd history, and tweak it for you?

Heh, I got my first non-spam pingback on the blog post I wrote Monday. It's kinda surreal to have someone blog a response/commentary to something you wrote.
