I'm going to be at GenCon ...
...GenCon says so.

Heh. That's just silly.

A HUGE 11 (out of a possible 11) skulls thank you is due to Elaine Cunningham for organizing the entire GenCon lit. tour. :)

Go buy one of her books. :)

FYI, Kam: we need to get you on the list.

Yes, Kameron should be on the list. There are a couple of new additions, as well. I'll send a note to the GenCon folks to update.

Since we're on the topic, here's some good news: We've been trying to get a bookseller into the convention hall, and it's looking good for Borders to host our signings (and handle all the stocking and sales issues!) right in the hall. Authors' Avenue is going to be a happening place this year. Whoo hoo! Fantasy books for sale at GenCon! It's a radical concept, I'll be the first to admit, but here's hoping it catches on. :)

A new development that augers well for the success of this event is Bob Salvatore's likely participation. He'll probably sell as many books as the rest of us put together, which could do quite a lot to convince Borders AND GenCon of the value of such events.

If you're a) an author who b) plans to attend GenCon Indy and c) you have not yet sent me your list of titles and ISBN numbers, please do so ASAP (elainecunningham@cox.net), as I'm compiling an order list for Borders. Books can and will be added to this list between now and GenCon, but ordering books for two to three dozen authors is a somewhat daunting task for a very busy regional manager, so we want to get the bulk of the order in early. :)

We now return you to the blog in progress. :)

Stan! is a game designer and writer. You can learn more about Stan! at his website, www.stannex.com.

I have no clue what the exclamation point is about, but that's his chosen mode of address.

Congrats, H-man.

I'm hoping we can make it up there next year and by then, with your current track record, you'll be the guest of honor!

Again, congrats! You deserve this moment!

Naw. It's just the work of EC. I'm still nobody, and that's fine with me. :)

Heh, I'm a patient guy, and very familiar with the slow-moving cogs of bureaucracy. It's been a month since I interviewed and was "hired" by the State, and I still haven't officially started because the paperwork is being processed. I'll add my thanks to Elaine for all her work. I'm just looking forward to my first GenCon and finally meeting everyone.
